Hi everybody!
Feel like its been a while since I last posted, but here's the latest news for Langley Dreaming: We're still alive, and we're still growing! Lots of plans are on the way, as our worship is expanding, and new people are taking leadership.

This saturday night, 8pm, at the North Langley Community Church on 96th, Isaac and the PA crew will be leading worship! It's going to be a sweet night of worship, lots of new people will be swinging by, so who knows what might happen?

Also, we're having a BBQ at Zac Park's house on tuesday night, sometime...details to follow

Langleyites,

It’s such an awesome thing for us to do, getting together to worship Jesus, our King, in unity! It pleases God so much... We have many dreams, each of us individually, and together; we want to make our mark on the world! But we can’t deny the importance of our worship in unity... even this alone pleases God, this alone is a mark on the world.

K, I’ve got that out of my system. So just wanted to spread the word for Langley Dreaming this Saturday night, 8pm at the Langley Vineyard! Last weekend was really powerful, and encouraging: the dream for our worship itself is beginning to unfold. Lets not stop, instead keep pressing in! There’s so much more in store!

So that's THIS SATURDAY at the Langley Vineyard, at 8pm... gonna be a good night.

An inspiring night to come...

Well its nearing the time for our 4th Langley Dreaming worship, happening this saturday, April 15th at North Langley Community Church, on 96th and 210th! Worship will start at 8pm again!

This is going to be a sweet night of worship. The passionate young of Langley, coming together to worship, a common love and desire for Jesus, this will always be special. But I have another sense about this saturday. I believe our worship together this saturday night will take us a step beyond as a group. And I know God will inspire many of us, with passions and dreams, motivated by the cross!

Spread the word about saturday, lets get together, worship and pray, and see the Spirit move :)

Come prepared to share your dreams with us and be prayed for, empowered.

Cool. This will be fun.

LD Worship Saturday April 1st, Langley Vineyard, 8pm!!!

Saturday night we had our second Langley Dreaming worship event, and it was a tremendous success! There were alot of new faces there, and as the worship progressed, you could really sense the unity, as God was blessing us! Later in the evening, we formed a circle and arm in arm-- many of us nearly strangers-- worshiped and prayed together, as a symbol of our commitment to the unity! Zac Park also encouraged us with a dream of a worship setting where all of the arts are utilized, and everyone is contributed in a similar praise in their own way! We ended the night simply hanging out, eating chips and drinking generic soda. Bonus.

The next meeting will be on April 1st, at 8pm at the Langley Vineyard, the location of our first event! It’s really exciting as things are coming together-- New ideas are forming as people are realising the potential of our movement.

Hope to see you at the next event. Pray about your role in this movement. Ask yourself, what are my gifts, my passions, and abilities? What is my dream for Langley? What can I bring to this movement, and where can I offer leadership? We’ll dream together at the coming event, so please pray for April the 1st as well!

Langley Dreaming Worship this saturday, march 18th!!!

Hi everyone!

Really sweet news, we're having our second Langley Dreaming worship night this saturday, March 18th 2006, at 8pm, at North Langley Community Church. Wow, I just realised march is pretty much half over!

Remember how special our first night was a couple of weeks ago, well alot has happened that has been encouraging since then, and I just can't wait to do this again! There are so many dreams to come true as we're faithful with this thing. So invite all, lets worship, lets listen, and lets have some fun...

What a prophet said about LD...

So the day we had our first event, March 4th, a prophet arrived in Langley to speak and prophesy over the congregation at North Langley Community Church. He prophesied on the sunday, the day after, and the monday, and will be speaking tonight from 7-9pm, and wednesday night as well.

He said some things about Langley Dreaming!

Old-time Langley Dreaming supporter, Scotty, emailed me some of the things he's been saying:

"There is a dream in langley to save this city...."

"There is an uprising in Langley to unite the youth generation..."

"There will be thousands...."

"North Langley will receive an anointing in this movement soon..." (possible next venue!)

"This will be a generation of Jacob...."

"The Lord says 'I will take over this city'...."

"This generation is the most attacked generation in history... Satan is afraid of [us]"

"It is a matter of hunger, not theology...."

He also said that his prophecy is partial, and is conditional, for things must be abided by to attain this vision. Four things:

1) There must be a true hunger for unity in Langley

2) Each leader must seek to fulfil their own destiny in order to be successful in this

3) We must each build sufficient and effective relationships to be united

4) We must all come together as one force to fend off the challenge of defeat by the world

**He says these are the great needs for this movement to happen in youth

So much more he has said, and that I will share with you in person, man I feel so impacted by tonight it isn't even funny, this thing can fly if we take God's grace and apply it, God is pointing at Langley.

He spoke of the Jesus revolutions in the Philippines

In Manilla 2001- 150,000 youth for 16 hours of worship, prayer and fasting

In the South Philippines- 8,000 youth after meetings of less than 200 for years

He prophesied that youth will not answer a call of need, but that they will go anywhere if they are united with their friends.

LD Birthday: March 4th, 2006...

It was a night to remember. The birth of a movement. Definitely, the night exceeded its expectations, as God made his presence felt among us, pleased with our unity, and giving us passion.

It seemed like everyone was passionate, and really eager to see God move in Langley, and inspire its young people!

Some of the things said and prayed for:

One person prayed...

“That God would give us something like he gave Delirious in GB”

Another...

“That this [what occurred tonight] is how revolutions occur”

We’re on the verge of something sweet. God is moving in so many circles all over Langley, and has chosen to bless our movement as well!

We’re still confirming location (I'll email and blog ASAP), but we’re on again on the 18th, at 8pm again!!!

LD 1 WEEK AWAY!!!

To all of my wonderful friends and supporters of Langley Dreaming:

I’m sitting on the couch, its a fantastic satuday morning, Nicholas Cage is on T.V., and most importantly, its 1 WEEK UNTIL THE FIRST LANGLEY DREAMING EVENT!!!

Yes, 1 wek away, 8pm at the LANGLEY VINEYARD!!!!

So, for the case of clarity, I’ll briefly restate our purpose:

1) To as young people of Langley seek the Holy Spirit, to empower us to dream, and to aspire to our higher callings according to His will...

2) To demonstrate the unity of the church, and recieve God’s blessings according to His promises, that he desires for us to worship in unity...

3) To make communities of young people with similar visions, dreams and gifts, to make the greatest art, and provide an opportunity and setting for all people to discover God.

Remember, LD worship will happen every 2 weeks from March 4th on. The location for the 2nd event is still in the works...but we’ll know ASAP.

Invite anyone, particularity young people, Christian or not to be apart of this. Upon any interest invite your friends to come out. It’s going to be special. Expect something special.

FIRST LD WORSHIP EVENT: March 4th

It's been a while since any post has been made on this blog, but the news is out, the first Langley Dreaming worship will be on March 4th, at the Langley Vineyard church! It will start no later than 8pm!

LD: Things to pray for...

I’ve had more time recently (with the end of Christmas rush and what not) to refocus on mine and our dreams for unity and God’s move in the young Christians of langley. I’ve sent out an email, as well, that talks about the HUGE worship recording happening on the 27th and 28th, and how that can be an excellent prelude to our first ‘langley dreaming’ worship event, as well as the tentative dates for our first event ourselves, in mid February.

So anyways, maybe its the new year’s resolution thing, but I’ve felt in the last few days a call to pray for some detail on how things will go down, and roles and things...So here are some things to pray for, before we meet on MONDAY, the 9TH of JANUARY!!!

Need to pray for passion:
-passion for people who want the constant desire to worship

Need to pray for dreams:
-that God can inspire us to dream, be creative, to be bold, and have the confidence to take action

Need to pray for understanding:
-Of God’s desire for the people of Langley, for the movement of young people
-Of the Holy Spirit’s move at our meetings

Need to pray for guidance:
-Of each of our roles in this...where in this massive scheme of praise to I fit in? Where shall I invest my time, my leadership, and my focus? What role suits my gifts, my personality?

Need to pray for growth:
-of this movement. Until every young Christian is plugged in we keep rollin. Then we go to Surrey :)

Plus, at the meeting, I can tell of a not so strange special tie that God has made between ‘The Well’ (a unifying worship event of old in langley), and our lil shindig...

Right so this is the original email that was sent out many moons ago, that got this shaker shaking. Take a read, the concept hasn't changed all that much, and pretty much everyone that reads it is down with it all. Maybe it will inspire you to do something, or be apart of the LD movement...

Hi Everyone,
So this is ‘on-paper’ an outline of my dreams, and what I hope and believe is to occur here in North Langley. Some of you I’ve talked to already, some of you have committed to being involved in different capacities, and some of you this is the first you’ve heard of it...please share your thoughts with me, and what sort of “plan of action” you would take.

For those of you who are definitely wanting to be apart of this, and the leadership/vision team, you can use this as a letter to inspire and motivate others.

All young leaders in the church, please respond!!!

***Please Read this all who are passionate about wanting to see God move in North Langley!!!***

Dear friends and brothers and sisters in Christ of North Langley, namely the young,

Recently I have been truly inspired and moved to affect change with regard to unity and the Christian church. I’ve had a long history of this tugging on my heart: I remember when I first started leading worship--in about the second year--God started really breaking my heart for the division of the Christian church, and the hypocrisy that we all
(for the most part) confess that Jesus is Lord and the one true God, but let are petty difference keep us from spending time with each other, and worshipping together, and believing with one another. Really, it’s like we’re all in some intermingled, bizarre, ineffective grade 7 relationship, where our petty differences and ridiculously emotional break-ups keep us from being friends.

That was truly a pessimistic paragraph. May I return now to my optimistic self. There are outlets and events that do unify the church, and I just love them! Events like Missionsfest in Vancouver, and Worship Invasion monthly. These are special times where Christians can meet and be connected, worship God together, and see His blessing and move. I love these times.

Still, there isn’t enough; we’re not truly unified (at least here in Langley where I can truly speak from experience). God has promises of bestowing His blessing when brothers are in unity, and logistically, it just makes so much sense when you consider:

Imagine a battlefield, which is to represent all that is good on earth (all that is in God), and all that is evil (all that is in Satan). As God’s children, as Christians, we are the soldiers in God’s fleet. We have many colours, and come from many tribes and cultures. Some of our practices are different, and even some of our doctrine varies, but we all agree that Jesus is Lord, and that gives us our place God’s side. Now, in spite of our differences, we still need to communicate to plan our attack, to assemble the arches, to divide up the horse, to know when to charge (sorry, I love Braveheart). We need to be unified to be most effective.

I must make it clear however. I believe we need to celebrate our differences. God makes it so clear in his word that we all (as churches and as individuals) make up different parts of the body, have different uses, different gifts, different lifestyles, and different destinies. Yet he still requires that we are in unity with one another, that we all confess the same love for God, and that we work together, operating as one body.

I dream great things, where the Christian church world wide will have effective communications networks, where it resources each other, where it worships together--Where it represents to the world how it looks to be unified. Still, we need to start somewhere. So here is my proposal.

Lets begin with the young people of North Langley, sort of the Walnut Grove, Fort Langley and Willoughby area. I want to eventually have every young Christian in this area to meet as a whole once every month, to worship, resource and encourage. There is so much good that can come of this! Here are some of the goods I have brainstormed so far:

-Pleasing the heart of God: He desires that we have unity, and “erect an alter” as one church--the twelve tribes of Israel, coming together for battle, so to speak.

-Encouragement/befriending: Young Christians of Langley can know they are not small in the world, that there are many of us, passionate, wanting to see God move, and they can grow in friendships with each other.

-Networking: I have dreamed for example that WGSS students will come to a unity event, or recognise a name on a unity mass email and realise for the first time who else is a believer at their school! They can befriend one another and become a body of WGSS believers as one and affect change...which leads to another awesome positive from unity:

-Subcultures: Young Christians with similar interests can form subcultures, share and encourage each others’ shared spiritual gifts, and grow in them together. The Dancers in Langley can form a team, or dance in the spirit together. Those who like biking can begin a biking group for evangelising. The young worship leaders can be mentored by older, more experienced worship leaders...etc. Little Jimmy from the smallest Christian church in North Langley, who loves to act and wants to use his gift to share the story of the cross, but doesn’t have any other actors at his home church, can start a drama team with other young people that have that same passion--young people he meets at the unity event.

-Experience the joy: Experiencing the joy of a large gathering of Christians, and the move of the holy Spirit when we do gather is oh so encouraging.

-Discipling and cells: Leaders and “elders” (regardless of age) can begin to disciple one another and younger Christians, the goal being that all young Christians in North Langley be discipled by at least 2 more mature Christians. As well, all young Christians can be plugged in (especially those from smaller churches) to cell/small groups where they can enjoy intimacy and really grow.

-Safe environment for Christians to be authentic without facing persecution. Promoting that we’re all the same sons and daughters.

-Unsafe however, in the risk that you will be exposed into your true nature of creation. You may find yourself. Others may find you. you will be challenged. A place where you could break.

I’m sure you can dream up so many more bonuses to us gathering together to worship God, and to network every young Christian in North Langley, and eventually the world. See, I believe this could spread like a virus, where other leaders step up and unite all over the world, when the see the blessings God pours on us in our unity!

PLEASE!!! Read all the scripture below, it shows how God desires we have unity, that it is when he bestows His blessing, and the coming together of the tribes of Israel as a metaphor for the coming together of all young Christian in North Langley!

Email me with your contact info, if you would like to be involved in the leadership of this event so we can seek more vision together, and begin the networking process, and plan an event in the future (near I hope). We want all leaders in every church and every Christian-related group (like Canada Fire or Young Life).

What is Langley Dreaming?

Langley Dreaming began in the summer of 2005, when some Christian friends decided it would be smart if the young people of Langley that loved Jesus all got together to worship Him. They all believed, and still do today, that when this happens, God is happy, and He bestows His blessings. Good things happen, and people are inspired to do all sorts of good things. This blog is new, and Langley Dreaming is still pretty new, but the concept of unity is old, very old, and very Biblical. If you're interested, read Psalm 133.

So as of right now, the group has grown, and is still planning. But the first official unity meeting, the first Langley Dreaming worship, will take place 2 weeks after a big worship recording in Langley, and will occur in mid February.
